Effective professional communication in the workplace is crucial to graduates and managers within successful organisations in any industry. Students will come to understand different communication styles, written and oral communication as well as communication in a team environment. The unit will specifically cover these aspects of communication so that students can create strong foundations for the development of further communication skills as professionals.

This unit is a study of a professional approach to project management focused on Information Communication Technology (ICT) based projects. This unit provides students to develop knowledge and skills to manage projects using principles, tools and techniques. This unit also highlights the challenges and issues associated with project management in the ICT context.

This unit provides students with various knowledge and skills in all aspects of information security. A broad overview of the entire field explores important terms and examines how to manage an effective information security program. Students learn about various types of security including personal, computer, internet and mobile plus privacy. These topics will be followed by security management, incident response, contingency planning, security technology and professional issues. Students also develop Hands-On skills on several security aspects.

This unit is designed and developed to cover fundamental  concepts of computer networks.  In this unit, students will learn about basic data networks, hardware, topology, standards, models and protocols. The unit also discusses addressing schemes, media technologies and introduces wide area networking and cloud computing.  Students will utilise those learning to design, operate,  maintain and troubleshoot small networks and be prepared to take advanced courses in networking and cyber security.
